Kabels MOG

MOG cable arrives in Vlissingen

This month, the cable that will connect the platform with the coast was transported from Greece to Vlissingen. With the installation of the cable beginning in April, the Modular Offshore Grid (MOG) is gradually taking shape. The cable has a diameter of 28 cm and consists of three conductors. The construction of the platform's topside is also progressing well, with this component due to be installed on the jacket in mid-April. The cables will then be connected to the platform. Tests will begin in August, meaning that the 'electricity plug in the North Sea' will be operational before the end of the year.

IO ENERGY

More than 90 companies now partners of the IO.Energy project

More than 90 companies have already signed up to take part in the ambitious IO.Energy (Internet of Energy) project. With this project, Elia, Fluvius, ORES, Sibelga and Resa want to better align supply and demand, which is becoming more and more challenging as the share of renewable energy increases. To this end, Elia and the distribution operators are joining forces with business, research institutes and various government departments. There are two options: Gigawatt, involving an active contribution within the ecosystem, and Megawatt, whereby the partner mainly provides support. There are already 60 participants in the first category, while 30 companies have signed up to the Megawatt option.

The first workshop was successfully held on 14 March, with more than 125 Gigawatt partners actively participating. More workshops are planned for 26 and 27 March. The project was officially launched in February.
